Internships

Each fall, The Canadian Press accepts applications from current students and recent graduates for our summer internship program in Toronto and Montreal. We normally hire applicants for openings as reporter/editors. Find out more about the summer internship program, qualifications and how to apply.

Every year, we offer The Gillis Purcell Memorial Journalism Scholarship for Indigenous individuals in Canada, established in 1990 in memory of Gillis Purcell, who was a general manager at CP. Recipients, who must be pursuing a career in journalism at a post-secondary institution, receive $4,000 and may also receive an offer of temporary employment or other opportunities at CP.
