Pagemasters to provide editorial production services to The Globe and Mail

TORONTO, ONTARIO (June 1, 2010) – Pagemasters North America is pleased to announce it has been selected to provide editorial production services to The Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper.

Commencing in June, Pagemasters will work in close collaboration with The Globe and Mail to provide tailored copy editing, page production and quality control in a number of sections of the newspaper's printed editions during the summer months.

Pagemasters North America is a subsidiary of The Canadian Press, which has been Canada's national news agency since 1917 and provides media services to a broad range of members and commercial clients.

"The Globe and Mail has an exceptional track record as a quality newspaper, and at Pagemasters it is our mission to ensure their standards are maintained," said Stewart Muir, managing director of Pagemasters North America.

The Globe and Mail dominated the National Newspaper Awards recently when it won the top prize in seven categories for journalistic excellence. The Globe and Mail has been in print for 165 years and has consistently delivered Canada's best and deepest coverage of national, international and business news.

The work will be performed on a trial basis by Canadian journalists at the Pagemasters North America production center in Toronto.

Pagemasters leads the world in the establishment and operation of centralized editing centres for the newspaper and magazine industry.

"All around North America today, editors and publishers are talking about the need to focus more on creating content," said Muir. "Pagemasters helps them to make that happen."
